We’re always here to support the mental health and wellbeing of our members, especially during difficult times like the current COVID-19 pandemic. So from 1 April 2020 to 31 December 2022, all members with Extras cover will be covered for psychology up to a limit of $300 at no additional cost.
If you have Extras cover which previously didn’t include psychology, you’ll be able to claim on psychology consultations between 1 April 2020 – 31 December 2022 just as you would with any other inclusion on your cover, through the app, online or with your card.
If you’re covered for psychology with a limit under $300, you’ll be able to claim an additional amount above your existing limit up to a maximum of $300. You’ll need to contact us if your existing limit has been reached and you subsequently experience a rejected claim for psychology.
Am I eligible?
You'll need to be an Australian resident member, currently holding Extras cover and have already served your two-month waiting period. If you currently have psychology cover over $300 or are on a mental health care plan set by Medicare, you’re unable to claim the temporary cover.
Mental Health Waiver
The Mental Health Waiver is always available to our members and is especially important during the current pandemic. It allows you to upgrade your Hospital cover and waive the standard two month waiting period to access full benefits for in-hospital psychiatric treatment.
This waiver is only available to you if you have held Hospital cover for at least the previous two months, have not previously used your waiver with us or any other fund, have been admitted to a hospital and are under the care of an addiction medicine specialist or consultant psychiatrist. Please contact us if you have any questions or require assistance.
